GA²LEN
The GLAD Forum is the annual international conference of GA²LEN, a European research network in the field of allergy and asthma. For the 2026 edition, at the Crowne Plaza in Utrecht, we handled the full technical production for around 120 attendees: lighting, sound and video.
Their first edition, a year earlier, had been a case of finding out as they went: the production was hired locally and communication with that supplier was difficult. For 2026 they wanted it properly taken care of, and asked us to coordinate the entire technical production: lighting, sound and video, from setup to show.
We coordinated the entire technical process, from preparation to teardown. We started the build the day before the event. During the two show days three technicians were on site: one for sound, one for lighting and one for video and overall direction.
Lighting: front spots for the speakers, moving heads for atmosphere and uplighters in the hall and foyer. Sound: a PA system with 10" speakers, 15" subwoofers, delay speakers and small speakers covering the front rows (front fills) for an even sound throughout the hall. Video: projection driven by our own video switcher, plus two 55" screens as delay and a confidence monitor for the speakers.
The organisers could focus entirely on the content and the networking on both days. Afterwards they asked us to help plan the coming editions, which take place internationally, and how we could take the production off their hands there.
